To travel from the airport to the central station Wien Hauptbahnhof, there is a train every half hour and tickets cost the same as the S-Bahn. Tickets must be purchased and validated before you get on the train, and there are hefty fines for travelling without a ticket. The journey time to Wien Mitte station is 25 minutes and the cost of the ticket is €3.90 for adults, €2.40 for seniors over 62, and €2.40 for children between ages 6 and 15. As well as a taxi service, the public transport options from Vienna airport include the S-Bahn S7 to Vienna (Wien Floridsdorf Bahnhof) every 30 minutes. The airport is serviced by the A4 road and the journey to the city centres takes approximately 25 minutes. Iberia flies to Vienna-Schwechat International Airport (IATA code: VLC), which is situated 25 kilometres south-east of the city centre. In the winter months, these mild temperatures fall to an average of 0º, though on some days the temperature can be closer to minus 5º. However, this season of the year also sees the most rainfall.
